Technologies on the front-end course

Front-end is the layer of the page or web application which can be seen on the screen when the web browser is open. Front-end developers ensure that the site is clear and intuitive for users. If you are creative and care about aesthetics and details, then front end is for you. In this course you will learn the following technologies.

Things you will learn during the course.

Creating a Page Structure

You create the logical structure of documents using HTML tags, crafting the skeleton that the user interface rests upon. To describe each element in detail (e.g. paragraph, header, menu), you use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), which is the language that positions and lays out web page elements.

Incorporating Interaction

Thanks to JavaScript, websites can feature interactive elements such as reacting to events, validating forms and building up, updating, or deleting parts of the page. You create animations, galleries, sliders, pop-ups and many other items commonly used on web pages, taking care of optimizing and organizing the code.

You design pages so that their look and layout adjust automatically to the size of the display screen e.g. on a tablet or phone. You get to learn the techniques that make creating this type of websites both simple and enjoyable.

Efficiency Boosting Tools

There comes a moment when it becomes very difficult to control the ever expanding CSS file. Then Sass – which stands for Syntactical Awesome Stylesheet – comes into the picture. It is a language expanding the possibilities of CSS adding many useful features, for example variables or mixins. Besides, you get familiar with Gulp – a tool that automates a developer’s job by performing many repetitive tasks such as copying files, tracking files, compiling etc. The possibilities are rife and selecting the appropriate one depends solely on you.

PHP and WordPress

PHP is one of the most popular back-end languages for building websites and web applications. In class you will learn about its basics, which will give you insight into the installation and operation of the popular Content Management System (CMS) – WordPress.

Knowledge itself – without the appropriate dose of hands-on practice – is insufficient to perform the job well. Therefore, after every module we consolidate the material during workshops. We work on both separate smaller tasks as well as large applications or pages.

The course comprises 30 days of classes

The course is 240 hours of classes from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We offer two modes to choose from:
6-week full-time course (from Monday to Friday), with a one-week break in the middle
15-week weekend mode (every second Saturday and Sunday). Before the course it is crucial to complete all the assigned prework.

[4 weeks before the course]

Before the course you receive a set of prework materials to work on independently. This self-study will take you at least 60 hours. It should be emphasised that students who do not apply themselves to a thorough study of these materials tend to fail the course.

[30-day course]

The course itself takes 30 days of 8-hour classes. However, for the sake of graduation, the class material must be revised at home in the evenings and at weekends.

Your CV along with a Github link and a link to LinkedIn profile get to our base of partner companies which are looking for junior developers. Then the companies arrange job interviews with selected graduates.

9 800 PLN = 240 hours of classes = 41 PLN

For companies the price is subject to 23% VAT.
